Between Figures and Silence
These images are built from waiting.
I remove faces because faces ask for answers. I am not interested in answers. I am interested in what stays when explanation is no longer useful. What stays in the body. What stays in space.
The figures repeat. They stand, wait, or simply exist. By removing identity, the work moves away from one person and toward many. The images show a moment that mixes states of being – a kind of a layer out of a core sample of times.
The images aren’t waiting for something to happen, but waiting as a pause inside of change. They do not resist. They do not collapse. They persist.
The repetition is deliberate. Routine is powerful. It shapes people more than events do.
I work with flat shapes, cut forms, and layered color. I build the image slowly, then take things away. Faces disappear. Details fade. What remains is the feeling of the moment.
