These early portraits mark the beginning of my journey as a photographer. They were taken during a time of uncertainty, and deep observation. They reflect my search for connection through the act of looking and being seen. Shot in Amsterdam and New York, this work is honest, unpolished, and emotionally direct. The people I photographed were friends, strangers, and classmates. Each brought something of themselves into the frame, allowing the camera to become a silent witness to a shared moment. Looking back, I see these images not as a portfolio, but as a record of becoming an artist, a migrant, a listener, and above all, someone trying to make sense of the world through the magic of light and shadow.
